My bad...has it been a month?!

Ok ok ok - my excuse is that this blog is shite and wouldn't let me upload and I got frustrated and partied my way through end of July early August.

To cut to the chase, we tore up Barbados:

It was hot as shite...I can't remember heat like that...I was so grateful for the sea and breeze. That's the beauty of the Caribbean - breeze.

So parties and celebs a ton - Machel Montano was in town with Lil Jon, Pitbull, Patrice Roberts, Nappy etc...they even filmed a video to which I got exclusive access:

Then Grenada...what can I say about Grenada? Jab Jab Jouvert morning made 4 day morning look like Glastonbury Festival...so much culture and significane in St. George's that morning. Big shout and thanks to Reid van Renesse for taking awesome photos and driving me about the windy roads of St. George's. It was unforgettable:

Leeds Carnival this weekend. Oh yeah Notting Hill too...be good and play hard.

One love,

Alex Jordan

Rotterdam to Bridgetown

So I've tried to load all sorts of cool things that simply won't upload - well frustrating. There was live footage from Euro Night in Madrid...but we're over that. We've been to Rotterdam - spot the mild belly hang above...I'm ready for the Crop though!

The coach ride to Rotterdam was loooong but there were some cool party people on there - and a really cute guy...called...psyche! As if. And of course there were a LOT of these laying around (I was outraged):

Results out of Barbados state that Party Monarch was won by Khiomal (go friend!) but as usual it was controversial....Crop Over is controversy...

Off to Barbados tomorrow morning for hopefully some more of this:

Still in Spain?!

Friends, foe, those not bothered either way,

It turns out that my secret mission in Spain keeps me here longer than I had anticipated and if I eat one more piece of bread or any more "arroz" (rice) I will explode!

I haven't been liming with just anybody in Spain friends. No. I've been kicking it with the likes of Fernando Torres on winning Euro (above) and Spanish film director Almodovar's muse Rossy De Palma (left)...you know - sitting by the pool and chillin...we have the Spanish celebrity on lock friends! They are getting to know Soca.

Well it hasn't been all liming. I have been working on all fronts including dressing up like Mother Sally to dance the traditional dance of Barbados involving A Tuk Band and many characters - this is me as "Mother Sally":

The Trinidad Steel Band "All Stars" as well as Anigua's "3 Cylinders" including Onyan from "Burning Flames" have also been here in Spain - look out for Burning Flames in London in November.
Back to London tomorrow as the Soca Season heats up and we count down to Carnival in Rotterdam, Barbados, Grenada, Leeds, London and more!

Summer Zaragoza Stylee

Hail Fans of Soca Music, Caribbean Culture, Good Times or....Alex Jordan.

This summer is promising to be a sizzler, and if you live in the UK you should be jubilant for that! If you live in Zaragoza Spain however (...where you ask? Exactly) its a bloody nightmare. This town was contructed in a desert, so its hot and dry until 11pm every night and I am working here for 2 weeks. When I say hot....how is 40 degrees for you?! Sheesh. Its Expo 2008 so there are people from all over the world - now that is cool.

But after Spain, its back to the UK for a fortnight of warm up fetes, then Carnival in ROTTERDAM! Bring it on baby...Rotterdam is (not just) anywhere, but rather in sweet Holland. Soca fans from across Europe make it religiously, and I am no fool. There is a warm up party in Amsterdam the Friday night if you're near by. Its the weekend of July 26th.

After Rotterdam, its Crop Over in Barbados then Spice Mas in Grenada. Here you will get all the news, gossip, photos, videos - you'll feel like your'e there!

Check out the UK's only National Soca Music Show right here now www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra/alexjordan because I spoke to Eddy Grant this week (the big man in the photo with me...you may know him from such hits as Electric Avenue, War Party among others....). It's big.

One love from the desert,

Alex Jordan. x
